my dad, he wakes me this morning to tell me he's leaving. he'll be gone for two days. he'll be gone for two days, the days when i need him the most. i kiss his cheek and he tells me he loves me, and walks to my open door. he looks back and im not wearing my contacts so i cant see his facial expression. but i smile at him. i smile with my heart, and i can imagine him smiling back at me. then he leaves.
for two days, he's gone.
"have fun with your mother" he tells me. i chuckle.
just me and the moms.
the cold, stiff air coming through the windows could be more comforting.
